Thanks to the New York State Museum, we hosted Enterprising Waters: New York State’s Erie Canal, an exhibit commemorating 200 years of this waterway’s history. We added a panel on the canal’s aids to navigation, tying it to the work of ship’s like Lilac.
We extended Lilac’s season in 2025 to welcome Seneca Chief, a community-built replica of the canalboat that carried Governor DeWitt Clinton on his voyage marking the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825.
