The Lilac Preservation Project is an all-volunteer effort and we are always in need of more hands.
Volunteers at all skill levels are welcome. Really.
Many new volunteers begin as "gangway greeters" welcoming visitors on board and introducing them to the ship.
Volunteer tour guides show visitors around and explain the ship's history and operation.
For those interested in getting their hands dirty, restoration work requires many skills from painter to welder to mechanic to engineer.
Behind-the-scenes duties can include bookkeeping, event planning, and updating the website.
